Aims to provide the statistical fundamentals that every data analyst needs in order to launch a quantitative research project. After a brief discussion of data gathering, univariate statistics (measures of central tendency and dispersion) are considered. Then measures of association (Pearson's r, tau, lambda) and significance testing are looked at and, finally, simple and multiple regression are developed. Formulas are provided but their interpretation in plain English is stressed.
